Your Complete Guide to Traveling to Cuba

Everything you need to know about visas, flights, and transportation to reach La Pradera International Health Center in Havana.

Step 1

Visa Requirements

Cuba requires a visa for most international visitors. Our international team assists you through the entire application process.

Tourist Visa / Travel Card

Most visitors need a Traveler's Card (tourist card), available through airlines, travel agencies, or Cuban consulates. Valid for 30 days, extendable to 90.

Official Medical Invitation

We provide an official invitation letter from La Pradera supporting your visa application for medical treatment purposes, facilitating consular processing.

Required Documents

Passport valid for at least 6 months, return ticket, travel medical insurance, and a duly completed traveler's card.

Consular Assistance

We coordinate with the nearest Cuban consulate to your country to expedite visa processing and resolve any specific documentary requirements.

Step 2

Flight Tips for Havana

José Martí International Airport (HAV) is Cuba's main gateway. We help you plan a smooth arrival.

Major Airlines

Airlines such as Turkish Airlines, Air France, KLM, Iberia, and Copa Airlines offer routes to Havana with connections from major international hubs.

Best Time to Book

Book 6–8 weeks in advance for the best fares. High season (November–April) offers ideal weather but higher prices.

Airport Transfer

The airport is about 30 minutes from La Pradera. We provide complimentary reception and private direct transfer to the center for patients.

Luggage & Customs

Allowance of 23–30 kg checked baggage depending on airline. Declare prescription medications and medical equipment. Keep the customs form provided on entry.

Step 3

Local Transportation in Havana

Various transport options available to move comfortably between La Pradera and points of interest in Havana.

Private La Pradera Transfer

We offer door-to-door private transport for patients, with climate-controlled vehicles and bilingual drivers for medical appointments and excursions.

Official Taxis

Use official taxis (panataxi) with meter or agreed fare. Tourist taxis are safe and reliable for getting around the city.

Public Transport

Local buses (guaguas) are inexpensive but can be crowded. For greater comfort, we recommend transport organized by our center.

Car Rental

Available with a valid international license. Roads are generally safe, though driving during the day and planning routes in advance is recommended.
