At La Pradera International Health Center, every international patient is entitled to the same standard of rights recognized by the World Health Organization and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. These rights apply from your first inquiry through your return home.

Your Rights as an International Patient

Respect & Dignity

You have the right to considerate, respectful, and culturally sensitive care at all times, regardless of nationality, religion, or language.

Informed Consent

You will receive clear information about your diagnosis, proposed treatment, alternatives, risks, and expected outcomes — in your language — before giving consent.

Privacy & Confidentiality

All your medical records, personal data, and communications are kept strictly confidential in accordance with international data protection standards.

Financial Transparency

You will receive a written estimate of treatment costs before beginning any program. No hidden fees. You may request an itemized statement at any time.

Refuse or Pause Treatment

You may refuse treatment, seek a second opinion, or pause your program at any stage without penalty, and receive a full explanation of the consequences.

Complaints & Feedback

You have the right to raise concerns about your care. Every complaint is reviewed by our Patient Relations Office and acknowledged within 48 hours.

Your Responsibilities

To help us provide the best possible care, we ask patients and accompanying family members to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information about your health, medications, and medical history.
  • Inform the care team of any changes in your condition or new symptoms.
  • Follow the agreed treatment plan and attend scheduled appointments.
  • Respect the rights of other patients, staff, and facility policies.
  • Settle financial obligations as agreed, and ask questions if a bill is unclear.
  • Provide honest feedback to help us improve care for future patients.

Informed Consent & Medical Records

Before any treatment begins, your physician will explain your diagnosis, the recommended program, expected outcomes, and potential risks — in your preferred language through our international coordinators. You will sign a written consent form. You may request a copy of your complete medical records, including imaging and laboratory results, at the end of your stay.

Your medical data is stored securely and shared only with the clinical team directly involved in your care. Learn more on our Privacy Policy page.

Financial Transparency

Every treatment program comes with a written cost estimate provided before you travel. This includes medical procedures, accommodation, translator services, and logistics. If at any point you have a question about a charge, our coordinators will provide an itemized explanation.

Raising a Concern

If you feel your rights have not been respected, please contact our Patient Relations Office. Every concern is reviewed confidentially and acknowledged within 48 hours. You will never face retaliation for raising a complaint in good faith.
